Diabetes at Camp: Basics
Overview
This course is designed to provide a foundation of diabetes knowledge for those who may be responsible for supervision of children with type 1 diabetes in a summer camp setting, away from their parents and usual diabetes health care providers.

These 16 powerpoints cover a wide range of topics, including: basics of diabetes, insulin administration, collection of needed information before camp, diabetes technology including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors (CGM), diabetes emergencies, and troubleshooting when problems arise. The course was written by a team of pediatric endocrinologists and diabetes educators who all have extensive experience with management of diabetes at camp.
