Overview:

This online workshop will highlight the role of the eye care team in:

  • Recognizing risk factors for diabetes and encouraging screening for appropriate patients.
  • Explaining the importance of lifestyle modifications to prevent or manage diabetes.
  • Identifying recommended glycemic target ranges for people with diabetes.
  • Integrating into the larger diabetes care team and the patient’s central role on the team.

Module 2: ADA’s Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes 2022 – What the Eye Clinician Needs to Know 
Module 3: Diabetes Education – Important Concepts for Eye Health

Target audience:

This activity is intended for optometrists, eye care professionals, diabetes care and education specialists, and any other health care providers interested in diabetes.

Up to 3.5 COPE credits are available for completion of this program.
