1. Define hyperglycemia, understand associated symptoms and common causes, and review management in the school setting.
2. Define hypoglycemia, understand associated symptoms and common causes, and review management in the school setting.
3. Define ketones and discuss ketone management in the school setting.
4. Be prepared to respond to diabetes-related emergencies, such as severe hypoglycemia or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and list common forms of glucagon and administration guidelines.  
5. Review considerations for exercise management with diabetes in the school setting.
