Learning Objectives:
•Define the concepts of “connected care" and "remote patient monitoring" and explain their potential benefits for the treatment of people with diabetes.
•Describe the various technologies that facilitate remote care and how they can be deployed to monitor both individual patients and entire patient populations within a clinic.
•Discuss the main steps involved in setting up a clinic to optimize use of remote monitoring and care technologies, including efficiently and effectively collecting and reviewing data from various connected devices.
•Explain the current status of insurance reimbursement for remote monitoring and connected care and the steps involved in obtaining reimbursement for the provision of these services.
