This session will highlight the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of emerging investigators shaping the future of cardiometabolic research. Through a dynamic discussion, early-career researchers in diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease will share insights into their career pathways, research interests, and the opportunities and obstacles they have encountered along the way. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the evolving cardiometabolic research landscape and explore innovative ideas and future directions being pursued by the next generation of scientific leaders. This program offers a unique opportunity to learn from rising experts and engage in conversations about the future of discovery, collaboration, and impact in cardiometabolic health.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the career pathways and research trajectories of emerging investigators in diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
  • Discuss current challenges and opportunities facing early-career researchers in cardiometabolic health. 
  • Explore future directions in cardiometabolic research as envisioned by the next generation of scientific leaders.
