Course Description: Currently, there are effective medical interventions and therapies for weight management, but they remain underutilized due to low clinician knowledge, comfort, and experience utilizing them.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify latest management and prevention strategies for diabetes and weight management, including lifestyle and medical therapies and the role of incretin therapy
- Explore counseling techniques when working with individuals diagnosed with diabetes and overweight or diagnosed with obesity
- Understand the stigma of diabetes and overweight/obesity in diverse populations to reduce biases in health care.
Target Audience: This program is intended for primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and other members of the primary care team who manage patients with diabetes.
