As you may know, the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (NSDSMES) are currently being revised and are expected to be published in early 2027.
In alignment with these updates, we will not be hosting a live ERP DSMES Symposium this year. The ERP Team will host the next ERP DSMES Symposium in March 2027, which will align with the updated standards.
This symposium was recorded in 2025 and will remain on-demand through 2026.
The ERP Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) virtual Symposium is an accredited health care provider continuing education program that will award physicians, physician assistants, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, and certified diabetes care and education specialists who attend 3.75 continuing education units (CEU’s). The program’s goal is to increase participant access to quality, evidence-based, and sustainable DSMES services.
This program will guide attendees through establishing and maintaining a DSMES service that adheres to the 2022 National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support. Additionally, it will cover the requirement for 1 hour of CEU in ethics for Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) recertification with a presentation on Diabetes and Driving. The program is designed for adult learners, is task oriented, and interactive.
