OVERVIEW
Despite the availability of effective medical interventions and therapies for type 2 diabetes, their utilization remains limited. This program aims to increase competency in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and its complications and improve the care of individuals living with type 2 diabetes through four case studies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Review the use of glucose-lowering medication for microvascular and macrovascular risk reduction.
Insights into agent-specific considerations as they relate to diabetes’ clinical course among currently available SGLT-2 inhibitors, GLP-1 receptor agonists, dual GIP-GLP-1 receptor agonists, and other medications.
Identification of strategies to remove barriers to guideline-directed therapy.
