Kristen Whitney Daniels (she/her) joined the Federation in 2018 as associate director after working as a freelance reporter published in National Catholic Reporter, Global Sisters Report, and U.S. Catholic. She previously served as NCR’s Bertelsen Editorial Intern, earning Catholic Press Awards for her reporting on the death penalty.
A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Kristen completed a service year with the Sisters of St. Joseph’s St. Joseph Worker-LA program and later worked as a case manager supporting seniors experiencing homelessness at St. Joseph Center.
Kristen is a leading advocate in the #insulin4all movement and serves as co-chair of T1International’s Federal Working Group. Her advocacy has taken her to the U.S. Senate and the Presidential State of the Union, and her work has been featured in major outlets including BBC, Bloomberg, NPR, and Teen Vogue. She also contributes to research on health equity with Yale University and is an author on a World Health Organization report on diabetes-related stigma and communication. Most recently, she became a published fiction author.
