State a clear understanding of the common forms of diabetes seen in the pediatric population, and the key physiological mechanisms underlying the condition.
State appropriate insulin storage and signs of compromised or defective insulin.
Understand the different types of diabetes medications and insulin therapies, their mechanisms of action, and how to administer them safely.
Understand insulin dosing components and appropriate insulin administration techniques using insulin syringes and insulin pens.
List Type 2 Diabetes medications used in the school setting and define side effects that may impact student learning.
