Overview
The Nutritional Sciences and Metabolism Interest Group hosts a one-hour panel discussion and question-and-answer session related to the ‘hot topic’ of sugar substitutes. Jotham Suez, PhD will present the latest in basic science research, including his own research on the impacts of different sugar substitutes on glucose metabolism and the microbiome, which was recently published in the Cell. Maureen Chomko, RD, CDCES will review the latest clinical nutrition science on the use of different sugar substitutes for people with diabetes. Judith Wylie-Rosett, EdD will moderate the session, summarize the presentations, and provide attendees with key ‘take home’ points.
