Overview

Global Insights. Regional Perspectives. Practical Solutions for Better Obesity Care.

Obesity is a chronic disease that requires sustained, patient-centered management, yet many individuals experience interruptions in care due to stigma, healthcare system barriers, and limited access to evidence-based treatment. Developed through a global co-branded initiative involving six leading obesity organizations, this webinar builds on insights gained from two international roundtable discussions that identified shared regional challenges and locally relevant solutions across diverse healthcare systems. Through a case-based discussion, expert faculty will explore how experienced, internalized, and structural weight stigma influence patient engagement, healthcare utilization, and continuity of care. Participants will gain practical strategies to address treatment interruptions, strengthen therapeutic relationships, and implement evidence-informed approaches that support equitable, coordinated, and sustainable obesity management in real-world clinical practice.

  • Recognize how weight stigma affects patient engagement, continuity of care, and obesity-related outcomes.
  • Analyze patient-, provider-, and system-level barriers that contribute to disruptions in obesity care.
  • Apply person-centered, evidence-informed strategies to strengthen continuity of obesity care and support long-term patient engagement.
