Obesity is a complex chronic disease that requires evidence-based, patient-centered care across the healthcare continuum. This webinar will explore current approaches to obesity diagnosis, staging, and management while highlighting experiences from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), World Obesity Federation (WOF), and international experts working to advance obesity care. Faculty will discuss strategies to address weight stigma, improve patient-centered communication, strengthen obesity education, and support patients throughout their care journey. Participants will gain insight into evidence-based treatment approaches, including lifestyle interventions, pharmacotherapy, emerging therapies, and multidisciplinary care models. The session will also examine the critical role of the multidisciplinary care team in supporting long-term obesity management and improving patient outcomes. Attendees will leave with practical strategies and guideline-based approaches that can be applied across clinical settings to support comprehensive and effective obesity care.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants should be able to:
Describe and understand the roles of each member of the multidisciplinary care team in delivering comprehensive, evidence based obesity care.
Summarize evidence based obesity management strategies, including lifestyle interventions, pharmacotherapy, emerging therapies, and multidisciplinary care models.
Apply guideline based approaches to diagnosing and staging obesity across clinical settings, using evidence based criteria and standardized assessment tools.
