The American Diabetes Association® Group Lifestyle Balance™ (GLB) Lifestyle Coach Training provides individuals with the background, information, and skills necessary to offer the National Diabetes Prevention Program lifestyle change program in a wide variety of health care and community settings. This self-paced training, focused on the Group Lifestyle Balance™ curriculum, is intended for individuals who are working for a CDC-recognized organization, or an organization that is preparing to apply for CDC-recognition (learn more here).
This training is delivered by experienced Master Trainer faculty who were involved in the Diabetes Prevention Program clinical research trial, some of whom were part of the team that developed the original lifestyle intervention curriculum. To date, these faculty members have conducted Lifestyle Coach and Master Training workshops for more than 2,500 health providers across the United States and internationally. This team brings their vast expertise in guiding coaches, as well as their “real-life” experience implementing the DPP in a wide variety of settings. It requires approximately 12-14 hours to complete the training, including reading assignments and a final assessment.
