Living with diabetes can be an overwhelming, daily balancing act—physically, emotionally, and socially. Diabetes distress, a unique form of emotional strain linked to managing this chronic condition, can erode self-care, motivation, and quality of life. This presentation introduces practical Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies to help individuals with diabetes notice their struggles without judgment, reconnect with what matters most, and take small, workable steps toward better well-being. Participants will leave with tools they can integrate immediately into patient care to support resilience, self-compassion, and long-term engagement in diabetes management.

  • Describe the concept of diabetes distress and its impact on self-management, mental health, and clinical outcomes.
