In this module, participants will focus on identifying the most suitable eating patterns tailored specifically for individuals managing diabetes. Participants will explore the diverse range of foods and food groups that form the foundation of these eating patterns, aiding in better recall and comprehension. Additionally, learners will examine the intricate connection between eating patterns and blood glucose levels, providing the knowledge and tools they need to better assist people with diabetes through informed dietary choices.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this module, participants will be able to:
  1. Identify appropriate eating patterns for people with diabetes.
  2. Recall the variety of foods and food groups that comprise eating patterns.
  3. Recognize how eating patterns affect blood glucose. 
Module Faculty

Jasmine Westbrooks,  MS, RD, CDCES

Jasmine Westbrooks is a cofounder of EatWell Exchange, a media dietitian, and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She teaches communities to adopt a realistic approach to improving nutritional habits by helping people develop better relationships with their food sustainably. She has worked to bridge the gap in health outcomes by guiding communities in making positive life-long changes while respectfully maintaining their culture. They provide community outreach and various culturally relevant nutrition programs geared toward preventing chronic diseases.
