Meal Timing in Diabetes and Obesity: From Circadian Biology to Clinical Practice
ADA Member Exclusive Webinar

This webinar will review the science behind chrononutrition, highlight current evidence, and discuss how meal timing can be applied to the prevention and management of diabetes and obesity.
Overview

Join fellow American Diabetes Association® (ADA) professional members for a live, one-hour panel discussion, Meal Timing in Diabetes and Obesity: From Circadian Biology to Clinical Practice.

Chrononutrition examines how the timing, distribution, and consistency of eating influence the body's circadian rhythms and metabolic health. Emerging research suggests that strategies such as earlier meal timing, time-restricted eating, and consuming more calories earlier in the day may improve blood glucose, insulin sensitivity, weight management, and cardiometabolic outcomes, particularly for individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes. This webinar will review the science behind chrononutrition, highlight current evidence, and discuss how meal timing can be applied to the prevention and management of diabetes and obesity.

Hosted by: Nutritional Science & Metabolism Interest Group

Learning Objectives
  • Explain how circadian rhythms influence metabolic regulation and nutrient handling.
  • Summarize current evidence linking meal timing and chrononutrition with obesity and diabetes outcomes.
  • Evaluate the strengths and limitations of time-restricted eating and other meal-timing interventions.
  • Discuss practical opportunities and challenges for implementing chrononutrition strategies in clinical care.
  • Identify key gaps in evidence and future directions for research.
