Behavioral Health in Diabetes Care
This program is designed to enhance the whole person approach to diabetes care by increasing knowledge of diabetes care interventions and integrating behavioral health best practices into different clinical environments.

This is a 7-module online learning program for certified diabetes care and education specialists (CDCES), social workers, and other members of the diabetes care team.

Overview of Behavioral Health in Diabetes Care Program

The goal of this program is to enhance the whole person approach to diabetes care by increasing knowledge of diabetes care interventions and integrating behavioral health best practices into different clinical environments. The program was specifically designed for:

  • Diabetes Care and Education Specialists
  • Social workers, and
  • Other members of the diabetes care team
 The seven-part acredited program contains the following titles that you can complete at your own pace:

  • Engaging the Whole Person in Diabetes Care
  • An Overview of Behavioral Health in Diabetes Care
  • Effective Communication in Diabetes Care
  • Healthy Eating and Behavioral Health in Diabetes
  • Anxiety, Depression, and Diabetes Distress in People with Diabetes
  • Screening, Referrals, and Bahvioral Interventions in Diabetes Care
  • Community Engagement and Behavioral Health Support
NOTE: You must complete the seven modules to claim 5.25 continuing education credits.You may complete at your own pace, your work will be saved after each module.
